Majok's decision
Here's what Ater Majok's coach Edward Smith said about Majok's decision to commit to UCONN today. He had a planned trip to UCLA over the weekend but didn't go. He's now on his way back to Australia, where he's from.
``He didn't get an opportunity to go to UCLA,'' Smith said. ``He had a great visit here (at Connecticut). He felt all the pieces were in place and decided to shut (the recruiting process down.''

This is Brian Dohn's sixth season covering UCLA after spending 4 1/2 years covering the Dodgers for the Daily News and other Los Angeles Newspaper Group papers. He graduated from Rutgers, where the first college football game was played in 1869. Sure, the Scarlet Knights suffered for a long time, but now RU is doing what Jerseyans always thought was possible. Winning at Rutgers also proves winning is possible everywhere else in the nation, so underachieving coaches better be careful. Now, if only men's hoops can turn it around.
He probably didn't know UCLA is just 10 miles north of LAX. I can't think of another reason why he didn't visit UCLA while he made connecting flight at LAX on his way back to Australia.
