Sheldon Price commits
UCLA received a non-binding oral commitment from La Puente Bishop Amat cornerback Sheldon Price tonight. I will have more information on him tomorrow.

This is Brian Dohn's sixth season covering UCLA after spending 4 1/2 years covering the Dodgers for the Daily News and other Los Angeles Newspaper Group papers. He graduated from Rutgers, where the first college football game was played in 1869. Sure, the Scarlet Knights suffered for a long time, but now RU is doing what Jerseyans always thought was possible. Winning at Rutgers also proves winning is possible everywhere else in the nation, so underachieving coaches better be careful. Now, if only men's hoops can turn it around.
Sheldon Price is listed as 6'1" and 160 pounds. He's going to be eaten alive by college wide receivers. That's why no other school gave him an offer.

A "non-binding oral commitment?" I once had one of those-- the prettiest girl in high school told me she might go out with me if the stars were aligned properly. She never went out with me.

I don't know if you are being sarcastic or you are not a UCLA fan. You are already writing off this kid off. It must be nice to sit on your pedestal and cast judgement on HS kids.

6'1" is good size for a corner. I'll take him! The kid will put on more size.
Price was MVP of the Nike Camp on Saturday. Good pick-up.
6'1 160 -- frail now - but the kid is young - he has good height - and several years to puts to put on 20-25 lbs.
