Stover update

| | Comments (7) |

UCLA's basketball coaches will be on the recruiting road this weekend, and I'm hearing one person they are eager to watch is 6-foot-10 Anthony Stover from La Canada Renaissance Academy. It's no secret the Bruins need centers, and I'm told they want to evaluate how much Stover has progressed.

hmmm.... he has no offers aside from 'SC. Does this kid have "character" issues?

Actually, the bigger issue may be can this kid "Ball." At 6/10 and only SC looking at him, what does that tell you about his skill level??

he's a good kid. Offers from Pepperdine, Washintong State, Washignton. Stanford is very high on him as is Cal. Boston College and a couple of other east schools are showing interest.
USC always offers big men.

He's a developing player who is still growing but lead the country in blocked shots. Ended the season with like 200+ blocks.

About Inside UCLA

This is Brian Dohn's sixth season covering UCLA after spending 4 1/2 years covering the Dodgers for the Daily News and other Los Angeles Newspaper Group papers. He graduated from Rutgers, where the first college football game was played in 1869. Sure, the Scarlet Knights suffered for a long time, but now RU is doing what Jerseyans always thought was possible. Winning at Rutgers also proves winning is possible everywhere else in the nation, so underachieving coaches better be careful. Now, if only men's hoops can turn it around.
