The UCLA softball team started the playoffs with a bang as it thumped Cal State Fullerton 8-3 on Friday at Easton Stadium. UCLA faces Nevada at 3 p.m. on Saturday. The game will be televised on ESPNU.

Jill, I believe thumping is illegal in many states, punishable by up to 3 years in prison as well as forced study of Webster's Dictionary for improved action verb usage.
