Blog update

| | Comments (8) |

I just wanted to say thanks from all of us for your support of the UCLA blog. I especially like the responses we've received from the polls. They're meant to be something fun for you guys to do. The last poll I posted - the one about J'Mison Morgan - garned more than 1,800 votes. Also, no one person can vote more than once in order try to get a more accurate representation of the UCLA faithful.
If you have any ideas for poll questions you'd like to see, let me know. I'll try to run one every day this week.

How about, will the NCAA penalize USC? Yes/No

Technical Comment - is it possible to get the post navigation added back to the top of each post. Before the redesign, it went (previous post)-(Main)-(next post). This was very valuable in blitzing through the posts, and made it more likely that I'd read them all. Thanks!

You can in fact vote twice if you vote on different IP addresses....

Jill, you're doing a good job. Keep it up.

I would recommend just once weekly polls and not daily. After awhile they can get annoying. Just my 2 cents.

I'd like to echo the comment about the post navigation at the top. Also, I'm having some trouble with the RSS feed - it didn't update all weekend. It seems stuck on the "Austin Update" article. Maybe it's part of the update?

BTW - I much prefer this redesign than the last one (that didn't last more than a day or so). It still maintains the blog's feel, while streamlining it. Good job, IT folks!

Jill, can we get rid of that damn red stripe at the top of our Blog? That is like grinding salt into a Bruin wound....

Yes. PLEASE get rid of that trojan red stripe on top. What's wrong with you guys anyway?!? I know Brian loves Rutgers red but having it on a Bruins blog is just lame.

About Inside UCLA

This is Brian Dohn's fifth season covering UCLA after spending 4 1/2 years covering the Dodgers for the Daily News and other Los Angeles Newspaper Group papers. He graduated from Rutgers, where the first college football game was played in 1869. Sure, the Scarlet Knights suffered for a long time, but now RU is doing what Jerseyans always thought was possible. Winning at Rutgers also proves winning is possible everywhere else in the nation, so underachieving coaches better be careful. Now, if only men's hoops can turn it around.
