Bruins escape with win

UCLA's softball team was pushed to extra innings, but beat Nevada 6-4 in nine innings today. Nevada had previously won just one NCAA Tournament victory in the history of the program and that was on Friday.

and for those who didn't see it, they had a great chance to win in the 7th. they were up 4-3 with two outs, we had a runner on second. we hit a grounder to second, but the second baseman's throw pulled the first baseman off the bag on what should have been the final out. the next batter, UCLA scored on a single to tie the game.

narrow victory, but we'll take it.

And just for the record, UNR has had an exceptional season so beating them is hardly a given. They swept a solid Hawaii team on the road and are highly regarded and have risen in the rankings each week.
