Bruin Kevin Chappell also won the individual championship. He saved both with a chip in from about four inches of rough on 17 for bogey after dumping his first shot in the lake. He was staring right down the barrel of a triple bogey there, which definitely would have cost the Bruins the team championship, and would have dropped them possibly to third. He then parred the very difficult 18th to seal both championships.

can win 10 more national championships in minor sports and it won't matter. Guerrero's wagon is now hitched to the football team. Unless they can narrow the gap with USC, he'll find himself out of a job, regardless of how many final fours the hoops team goes to.

It's simple, the alums and most of the public care about two sports--football and men's hoops, in that order.

Peace.
