Morgan officially released
LSU has officially released J'Mison Morgan today. This is the release LSU just sent me.
LSU BASKETBALL RELEASES SIGNEE FROM LOI
BATON ROUGE - LSU men's basketball coach Trent Johnson announced on Tuesday that he has granted signee J'Mison "Bobo" Morgan a release from his national letter of intent that he signed with the Tigers in November 2007.
Morgan is from Dallas, Texas and played at South Oak Cliff High School.
"The bottom line with me will always be that I want players here who want to play for LSU," Johnson said. "There is some closure with this decision, but no player will ever be bigger than the program."

great news. any word on how soon UCLA will contact him?
dont worry UCLA has allready contacted him and sent the cash to his moma
Sorry Joe, this ain't SC. We do things a bit differently around this part of LA (the good part of LA...not the armpit that is South Central).
Johnson sounds a bit undiplomatic and bitter...
UCLA has already contacted him probably. Why would he change his mind even after he told LSU he was staying after Johnson got the job? Sounds fishy to me. Maybe the NCAA should investigate.
Why would he change his mind? Perhaps a conversation with the respective Lopi about playing the 5 under Trent?
All you U$C folks trying to pull UCLA and other PAC-10 teams under the bus with you after the Bush & Mayo scandals should just stop.
Ben Howland runs a completely respectable top notch program. Players come here because it's UCLA, not for the petty cash. The cash will come later after the Final 4 and hopefully some National Titles.
I feel bad for LSU since Trent is a good guy, but it's all part of the business.
Can you say Fab 5?
Why would he change his mind?
Option 1) Stay at LSU as it tries to rebuild, most likely not be on a tournament team this year, play for a coach he didn't sign up for who after a few weeks didn't make a great personal impression on him and his family
Option 2) Go a little farther away from home, to the most storied program in NCAA sports, have the media exposure of an unreal recruiting class, most likely start in place of a freshman all american who left early for the nba, have a chance at a conference title, final four and maybe ncaa title. play for a coaching staff that recruited him and that he liked enough to consider in his original recruiting.
All you UCLA haters need to point fingers in the right direction... east and slightly south (USC).
J'Mison was recruited by UCLA during the regular recruiting season. He chose LSU, but now the the change in coach made him reconsider. That aside, he will come to UCLA for the following simple reasons:
1) It's UCLA
2) UCLA needs a center now that K-Love declared and J'Mison will get instant playing time on a team with the #1 recruiting class.
3) J'Mison is not a big scorer... he plays defense. UCLA is a defense-oriented team.
4) Westwood, CA
5) John Wooden
6) Most storied basketball program
7) It's UCLA!
