Olympic hopeful

Last week at the Big Throwers Classic in Salinas, UCLA senior All-American Greg Garza threw an Olympic “A” standard in the discus, a personal-best throw of 211-8. It qualified him for the the U.S. Olympic Trials June 27-July 6 in Eugene, Oregon. It also means if he finishes in the top-3 at trials, he is makes the U.S. Olympic team and will compete in Beijing later in the summer.

Carroll and UCLA
