Brian Dohn's sixth season covering UCLA after spending 4 1/2 years covering the Dodgers for the Daily News and other Los Angeles Newspaper Group papers. He graduated from Rutgers, where the first college football game was played in 1869. Sure, the Scarlet Knights suffered for a long time, but now RU is doing what Jerseyans always thought was possible. Winning at Rutgers also proves winning is possible everywhere else in the nation, so underachieving coaches better be careful. Now, if only men's hoops can turn it around.
Wouldn't time be better spent finding out if the rumors are true on J'Mison Morgan and Alex Stephenson? While I root for the Lakers, this is a Bruin site and the possibility of a big man coming in is absolutely HUGE! High School murals, minor sports, and pro sports are all right, but Basketball and Football news trumps everything. Tell me about Bobo!
I am trying to track those things down....while waiting for phone calls and emails to be returned, I figured I'd put UCLA news-related items on the blog. I am surprised someone would consider a mural that high school students put together to honor John Wooden not newsworthy.
Anything about Coach is ALWAYS newsworthy! When he broke his wrist and he became instant news on Sportscenter. Not just for one night but until he left the hospital.
