Van's future

| | Comments (0) |

I saw CB Rodney Van at the USC-UCLA track meet on Saturday. Many of his teammates were at NFL mini-camps across the country, but Van remained optimistic about his football future. He said he'll go through an evaluation process with the Buffalo Bills soon, and he hopes he can attend their next camp.
``I just want to take advantage of any opportunity,'' Van said.
He's working out in Long Beach with some of his former high school coaches. Also, he said he still has a few classes before he graduates, but he has enough to walk with his class in June.
Defensive coordinator DeWayne Walker was at the track meet as well.

About Inside UCLA

This is Brian Dohn's sixth season covering UCLA after spending 4 1/2 years covering the Dodgers for the Daily News and other Los Angeles Newspaper Group papers. He graduated from Rutgers, where the first college football game was played in 1869. Sure, the Scarlet Knights suffered for a long time, but now RU is doing what Jerseyans always thought was possible. Winning at Rutgers also proves winning is possible everywhere else in the nation, so underachieving coaches better be careful. Now, if only men's hoops can turn it around.
