Draft hype

The NBA draft, and the months preceding it, is a big spectacle. Of course, it didn’t always used to be that way. Here’s how Stan Love found out he was drafted. Stan Love was selected No. 9 by the Baltimore Bullets in 1971.
“I was driving down Interstate 5 from Eugene to L.A. when I heard on the radio that I was drafted by Baltimore,” Love said. “I pulled over to look at a map and see where it was.”

Pulled over to see where Baltimore was on the map? Obviously Stan didn’t spend much time in college either.

WOW, shocker! Another comment from Stan Love. In all honesty, who really cares?

Stan better check his history. Interstate 5, at least the San Jouquin Valley leg, did not open until the summer of 1972.
