Here is the third set:

Where should we send the baby Bruin outfits? And is it a little Joe Bruin, or little Josephine Bruin?
Baby outfits can be sent to Baby Dohn, c/o Brian Dohn, The Daily News, 21221 Oxnard St., Woodland Hills, CA, 91367. ...And we won't know until the day arrives whether it is a little Scarlet Knight or Lady Knight.

Were you aware that your face would be plastered on the top left of the blog before you returned? The secret's out!
I did not know about it until I visited the blog page. The good news is the photo is a few years old, so maybe I don't look that anymore. And more good news is that even though my photo is on the page, readership didn't seem to suffer.

do you know what the timeline is for Stanback in deciding which school he will play for? I understand it will be at an east coast school but which schools are interested in him?
I doubt a decision gets made before July, but perhaps it will. I was told by his family that he wanted to finish the quarter at UCLA before making visits to prospective schools. I know he has a lot of family in the east, and that is a real possibility (I wrote about it a few weeks ago), but I wouldn't be surprised if he wound up a West Coast Conference school.

Do we have to worry about losing Marlon Pollard, or is he solidly committed?
From everyone I talk to, don't worry about it. He'll be at UCLA.

Do you see any of the DB recruits (Rahim Moore, Hester, Dye) getting PT as freshmen?
I see all three of them getting playing time. I think Hester will get a legit shot at cornerback, and could be used the same was (as a nickel back) Alterraun Verner was used as a freshman. Moore and Dye will also get plenty of chances, with Moore contending for time at free safety.

Are we a serious player for a DE like Craig Roh, or are we likely to get Keenan Graham?
With Rick Neuheisel recruiting and spinning his magic, I never rule out having a shot at a guy like Roh.

How likely are we to get Shaq Evans and can we flip Carroll and Presley?
I think Evans winds up at UCLA, Carroll has an excellent chance to flip and go to UCLA and Presley could do the same. People keep telling me Carroll will flip, and that it is almost a done deal, but I will take a wait-and-see attitude when it comes to a kid de-committing from USC to go to UCLA.

Do you know if we are still trying to make inroads with guys like Patrick Hall and Flournoy as well?
I'm not really sure to what extent. I know the work continues, but I don't know how much affect it is having.

Seems like with 15 offers to olinemen we should pick up maybe 3-4 players??
At the very least. I think UCLA wants to bring in at least five because bodies are needed, and it takes time to develop an offensive lineman to play at the college level.

the key to what you said in your last answer, Brian, is "it takes time to develop an offensive lineman to play at the college level." I'm always hopeful - and even plan to spend Thanksgiving in Phoenix to get to the Ucla @ ASU game this year, but I think we have to recognize that the line is the area that may well be a work in progress for a while.

Despite this year not being especially strong on the OLine, success in recruiting there - this year - is very important for the program. And the DL too - while DT will be a real strength next season, Harwell will graduate after the season and Price could very well leave early as well so DL - as always - is also very important. I love seeing us get excellent recruits in the DB, at LB, at RB, at QB, at WR etc etc, but in the end - or the beginning to be more accurate - I've always thought you build great teams from the lines back....

About Inside UCLA

This is Brian Dohn's sixth season covering UCLA after spending 4 1/2 years covering the Dodgers for the Daily News and other Los Angeles Newspaper Group papers. He graduated from Rutgers, where the first college football game was played in 1869. Sure, the Scarlet Knights suffered for a long time, but now RU is doing what Jerseyans always thought was possible. Winning at Rutgers also proves winning is possible everywhere else in the nation, so underachieving coaches better be careful. Now, if only men's hoops can turn it around.
