Blog input needed
With the end of the UCLA's athletic season nearly upon us, I was looking for feedback on what folks want from the blog in the future. This blog has really taken off in the last six months (thank you all very much), and I'm trying to make it better. I know video and audio are high on the list, and that is being worked on for the upcoming football season.
That said, here is a poll I put together in hopes of making it simple and quick for everyone to give feedback.

Hi Brian,
My preference is for all things Bruin, but one suggestion I would have is to get an intern from UCLA to help you out with the blog. It would be a great opportunity for a UCLA student, and it would help you keep up to date with having modern design and features.
Unless I missed something, nobody is required to read every post. Unless it gets to be too time consuming and takes away from your other responsibilities, I'd like to be given the option.
Either way, this blog is run excellently and everything you have time to post is appreciated.
Brian, please have your internets gurus change the top header from Red to True Blue. Thank you.
Max
obviously basketball and football are the most popular. but i dont mind (and actually like) getting info on some of the other sports as you are currently doing. i think you are doing a great job of mixing in just the right amount of other information, and not boring us with too much of the other stuff. i know this has been said a lot already but can we get the "next" and "back" tabs at the top of the page like it used to be?
I have no comment on the content or style of the blog, it belongs to Mr. Dohn, so he can do with it what he wants.
My problem is the censorship inherent in this blog. Censorship never works. Look at Scott Wolf's blog, he allows anything, never censors, and he takes a lot of heat and delivers a lot of heat. But guess what-- it is real, and better yet, it is freedom of expression. And even better than that-- it is more interesting than the "vanilla" comments that come in from the ucla faithful on this blog.
Great blog Brian! You are scooping everyone with current news and human interest. I am with the consensus on UCLA Football/Basketball focus. Anytime you can throw in a brief inerview with a recruit, player or coach it is going to be great. The blog is going to suck up a lot more detail than would interest the mainstream sports page.
This is an amazing site. Just keep doing what you are doing and I will keep coming back for more.
Thanks Brian!
@ONLYTHETRUTH, what the heck are you talking about? Brian has stated in the past that he will not post rumors or conjecture, if that's what you're referring to, but only items which he can verify. I find his blog posts much more informative and straight-forward than anything else out there. Do you have any specific examples of "censorship" that you can cite?
I vote, "Heavy on football and hoops, but mix in important UCLA news," but I add this comment: MAKE THE PRINT BIGGER like it used to be.
The censorship is a welcome change from other sports blogs. I get sick of reading everyone's constant bickering back and forth on other sites. It's nice that you focus on the sports.
In MY opinion, if someone wants an uncensored focum to discuss their topics of choice, they can start their own blog.
Some soccer info every now and then would be nice, but overall I like how the blog is run.....heavy on football and bball with other UCLA info mixed in.
***One thing that needs to be changed: It would be nice if you could go back to the old format of viewing posts from one post to the next without having to go back to the main page of the blog.
Thanks!
TheBarsh - you can navigate from post to post, it's just not in the same place it used to be, and it's not very intuitive. It's in the left column, under the About this Entry heading. Personally, I would prefer the old style navigation links, but also include them at the bottom of the comments as well.
My additional comments would be that I enjoy the emphasis on football and men's basketball, but I would really like to hear about all the sports, not just when we win a National Championship. I probably don't need to know every Rowing outcome, or every goal scored in Women's Water Polo, but when we are in a tournament or playoffs, I'd like to know how our teams are doing. Sort of like the coverage we recently got with Track.
Soccer and Volleyball would be sports that I would like more detailed coverage on, with occasional updates on the others.
I love the content. The football and basketball minueta is great, but don't slack off on the other sports. This is one of the few sources for this type of info.
It would be nice if you threw up Jill Painter's Bio on the site as well. She seems to be a regular contributer and deserves some credit.
Also, I think that 99.99% of the flack you recieve about a pro-Rutgers(East Coast)/anti-UCLA bias is complete hogwash, but it would be nice if you didn't spend 2/3rds of your "Inside UCLA" bio talking about Rutgers. It seems a little inappropriate and a source of many people's consternation.
