Edwards visit set

| | Comments (1) |

Diablo Valley C.C. of Pleasant Hill offensive tackle Donovan Edwards said he will begin an official visit to UCLA on June 11.
"I just got off the phone with the coaches and that's when they're going to bring me down,'' Edwards said. "(My recruitment) is pretty much status quo. I'm still definitely leaning toward UCLA, but I want to keep my options open."
If Edwards picks UCLA, he could begin taking classes when the summer session begins June 23. He is still being recruited by several other Pacific-10 schools, including USC and California, but his only offer to enroll and play in the fall is from UCLA.

About Inside UCLA

This is Brian Dohn's sixth season covering UCLA after spending 4 1/2 years covering the Dodgers for the Daily News and other Los Angeles Newspaper Group papers. He graduated from Rutgers, where the first college football game was played in 1869. Sure, the Scarlet Knights suffered for a long time, but now RU is doing what Jerseyans always thought was possible. Winning at Rutgers also proves winning is possible everywhere else in the nation, so underachieving coaches better be careful. Now, if only men's hoops can turn it around.
