Here's some UCLA football notes, courtesy of the UCLA sports info department.

Fans attending the Sept. 1 football opener versus Tennessee will be treated to a fireworks show following the contest. The game is scheduled for 5:00 pm and will be televised nationally by ESPN.

Two more UCLA football camps are scheduled for next week.

UCLA will be hosting the High School Overnight Camp on June 22-24. This camp is for boys entering grades nine through 12 as of Fall '08 and can be attended as a resident or a commuter.

UCLA will also be hosting a Youth Day Camp for boys and girls entering grades 3 through 8 as of Fall '08. That camp, scheduled for June 25-27, is from 9:00 am - 3:00 pm.

Pre-season practice will begin on Tuesday, August 5. According to NCAA rules, the first two days (Tuesday and Wednesday) must be without pads (helmet only). The players may wear helmets and shoulder pads on the third and fourth days (Thursday and Friday). Saturday, August 9 will be the first day in full pads and Sunday, August 10 will be the first day with two practices.

A complete schedule will be posted when finalized.
