Footballers and track

UCLA's incoming football recruiting class has a handful of highly successful track participants, and that was on display this weekend at California State High School track meet.
Receiver Nelson Rosario of El Camino of Oceanside was third in the long jump (23-1.25) and fifth in the triple jump (47-8.5). Defensive back Aaron Hester of Dominguez finished eighth in the 400 meters (48.13) and anchored the winning 4X400 relay team. Offensive lineman Jeff Baca of Mission Viejo was eighth in the shot put (56-8.5).
Also basketball signee Drew Gordon of San Jose's Archbishop Mitty finished seventh in the discus (176-6).
By the way, USC commit and UCLA target Randall Carroll of Cathedral High won the 100 and 200 meters.
