Kevin Love now a celebrity?
Love has apparently moved to celebrity/athlete status with an appearance on TMZ.com, a site that usually caters to actor gossip.

LOL
Honestly, Jill, with all due respect, who gives a crap about where this sluggish, one-and-done, Oregonian Marshmallow Man appears? He is no longer a Bruin, if he ever was one. I'm sick of hearing about how great Kevin Love is and how is he the greatest basketball player and NBA prospect in the history of the universe. I'm sick of hearing how his daddy is interfering with his son's professional career more than Lindsay Lohan's mom.
In 5 years, noone is even going to remember Kevin Love. He will either be playing in Europe, riding the pine in the NBA, or will be announcing high school basketball games for some team in Cat's Claw County, Oregon.
TMZ? Wow, this is hilarious.
VB....dude, chill. I'm guessing Jill posted this while shaking with silent laughter as I am.
Was he with Matt Leinart?
Funny, but Kevin Love better watch out. I bet you Stan Love is gonna get jealous of the spotlight on his son and try to muscle in and claim the spotlight for himself.
So does that make K.Love Lindsay Lohan or Jessica Simpson?
Don't be bitter. Love is and will always be a true Bruin but in the end he had to make a tough decision...
Too bad you never had to make that decision b/c I'm sure you would have been that shining example that stayed in school instead of advancing your career...
Last time I ate at Mr. Chow, I didn't see dishes of raw vegetables and fat free turkey. Last time I ate at Mr. Chow I gorged on duck, beef and shrimp -- and knocked back three or four martinis. What happened to the new Kevin Love? The disciplined guy who is going to shock everyone with his improved athleticism and physique, courtesy of his intense training regime? Maybe he didn't actually eat anything at Mr. Chow. Maybe he was there for a quick glass of Evian and the opportunity to meet some paparazzi on his way out the door.
To Kevin Love and Baron Davis and all the early exit Bruins -- you will never be full Bruins in my mind...at least until you come back and earn a bachelor's degree.
Nobody cares who you consider a true bruin. If they attended UCLA then they were Bruins! He's been great for the program yet people like you continue to complain. I'm glad there aren't too many fans like you
He's 19 years old for god sakes and about to make a fortune. I would have loved (no pun intended) for him to stick around but I'd rather have had his one year at UCLA than none at all. He's having the time of his life - like he should.
SANDY,
I fully agree. However, I would take Baron Davis off your list. At least he was here for a couple of years. Kevin Love and Trevor Ariza are the one-and-dones who will never fully be Bruins. They just wanted the L.A. exposure, and nothing else. Just because they wore the UCLA uniform doesn't mean they are true Bruins. They could honestly care less about the school or the fans. If they truly cared, why did they just blatantly screw up our APR? If Kevin Love truly cared enough about UCLA, he would have at least handled his exit a little bit better.
Guys like Arron Afflalo, Darren Collison, Josh Shipp, Mbah a Moute, and Lorenzo Mata are guys that I respect and will always remember as True Blue Bruins.
If Love would have left after winning a National Championship nobody would take any issue about his early departure.
Oh No!!! he ate at a nice restaurant, he must be a horrible person now! I hear there was a bottle of Pellegrino on the table, that's worse than drowning puppies!

______
DUH! Idiot
This weeping and gnashing over the APR hit UCLA may take because Kevin left UCLA while still enrolled means NOTHING. Let me know when it affects the program in lost scholarships or a warning from the NCAA. Otherwise, it's just a BS argument.
I was under the impression that Love, Westbrook and whoever else didn't finish classes would lead to lost scholarships. How does that whole thing work?
With regards to the argument about whether or not Love is a true Bruin or not, I'd have to consider him a Bruin for the great year he did give us. He will never be, however, a Bruin legend (though in his mind, and his dad's, he seems to think he's right up there w/ Kareem and Walton). I always heard how he was a solid kid, so it was disappointing to me to hear him call out his teammates during the season, complain about his lack of touches, boast about how he was going to shock scouts w/ his amazing skills, etc. And don't get me started on his crazy dad. Sadly, Love is becoming UCLA's own version of Matt Leinart. Only time will tell how his NBA career goes.

I would guess that any school that has kids leaving early will have to deal with those schollie problems, but I think keeping the avp is carried over a few years, not just one year. ...and Ben already addressed the issue with Kluv and Westy, and everything is good.
Fans better get used to kids leaving early. With the way things are with the NBA, elite kids are going to be around only a year or two at the most. If you don't like kids leaving early, don't recruit elite players.
Kevin had won an NC, he would have been a "true" Bruins regardless of ever receiving a UCLA degree. Is Eddie O a true Bruin? He doesn't have a degree from UCLA.
Maybe some of you should get your hating on Jrue Holiday early.
Thanks miltk. I heard USC took a hit when Nick Young and Gabe Pruitt didn't finish classes, I didn't know if it was the same deal.
On another note. I'd like to see the O'Bannon Boys and Tyus Edney get a little more love from the networks when they talk about UCLA basketball history. They may not have had the pro careers that Walton and Kareem did but damnnit if Edney's heroics weren't exciting.
Kevin Love is so young. Soon he will learn that real celebrities eat at Mr. Chow and then pretend that they don't want to be spotted by the paparazzi by walking quickly to their car while shielding their face with a to-go bag.
