Love traded to Timberwolves

Kevin Love was a Memphis Grizzlie for about two seconds. He's been traded to Minnesota. Stan Love just confirmed ESPN's report. ESPN first reported the trade in which Love and three players are heading to Minnesota for O.J. Mayo and three players.

I'm not sure I fully understand this trade. Love was available when the Timberwolves picked yet they picked Mayo. Later they give Memphis Mayo AND three players for Love. They could have had Love and kept the three players by just picking him first. Is this a crazy deal or what?

Was this a case of buyer's remorse?

Somebody please serve STAN LOVE a Super-Size portion of HUMBLE PIE. Time to eat some crow, too. I bet you old Stan thought his son was going to be picked first in the draft. Instead, Kevin wasn't even the first Bruin picked.

Minnesota wanted Kevin all along but knew they could get something extra in a trade for Mayo. In this case, Mike Miller.

I wonder if Stan is going to start telling people that Kevin was actually more like the 3rd pick in the draft, since he ended up going to the Timberwolves.

Bruin guy, just making sure that you undestood that the trade was for love and 3 players for mayo and 3 players. so it was a 4/4 trade. not a 4/1 trade.

Unless Memphis got out from under some bad contracts it seems like Minnesota got the better end of the deal. It can only be speculated on who will have the better future between Mayo and Love but Mike MIller has already proven to be worth more than the three players Memphis received combined.

Also wonder whether STAN LOVE had to pull out his map to find out where Minnesota was located. STAN, tells us how the Minnesota winter turns out for you.

About Inside UCLA

This is Brian Dohn's sixth season covering UCLA after spending 4 1/2 years covering the Dodgers for the Daily News and other Los Angeles Newspaper Group papers. He graduated from Rutgers, where the first college football game was played in 1869. Sure, the Scarlet Knights suffered for a long time, but now RU is doing what Jerseyans always thought was possible. Winning at Rutgers also proves winning is possible everywhere else in the nation, so underachieving coaches better be careful. Now, if only men's hoops can turn it around.
