No Edwards?
I'm hearing that Diablo Valley CC offensive lineman Donovan Edwards didn't get the grades in order to attend UCLA, therefore there was a scholarship available for Kevin Prince.

This is Brian Dohn's sixth season covering UCLA after spending 4 1/2 years covering the Dodgers for the Daily News and other Los Angeles Newspaper Group papers. He graduated from Rutgers, where the first college football game was played in 1869. Sure, the Scarlet Knights suffered for a long time, but now RU is doing what Jerseyans always thought was possible. Winning at Rutgers also proves winning is possible everywhere else in the nation, so underachieving coaches better be careful. Now, if only men's hoops can turn it around.

Scout reported that he committed today, while noting he still had some work to do before enrolling in the fall.
So then why would he commit to UCLA over the weekend if he knew he was never going to get in? For publicity? Do you actually have knowledge of your statement being true, or are you just randomly spewing garbage out on the net yet again?
Both Jill's comment and the Bro article are correct. The Bro article notes that Edwards still has work to do in the classroom. That is why he is enrolled at his JC this summer. The scholarship offer which he accepted is contingent on him passing his coursework this summer.
Give Jill a break. At least she isn't an anti-Bruin like Dohn.

Hey idiots, there was nothing erroneous about Jill's post. Just because the guy committed to UCLA doesn't mean that he has the grades to get in. BRO isn't going to post his report card in their articles. He may commit, but won't be admitted until he gets the grades.

At least Brian is usually very accurate on his information and he never reports on kids grades. Jill also said that his scholarship was given to Prince. That doesn't sound good.
How good do your grades need to be coming out of CC to qualify? Seriously, you don't have to take the SAT's or ACT's and I think you only need a 2.0. How is he going to get by at UCLA?
so... what happens if he does pass his summer coursework? Will they need to dig up another scholarship for him?

This doesn't affect Prince's scholarship. He took a class today. He's in. There would need to be more movement - ie, a transfer - for Edwards to receive a scholarship.

This report is 1,500% False. Dont listen to it. Donovan has to get 2 B's is summer school. Right now he's working a C up to a B in English and he's taking a Sociology pretty soon. I hate when reporters spew garabage on internet like this Jill Painter idiot. We are very outraged by this report and for now on Donovan will be taking a "no-comment" approach to every reporter. Donovan is a good student, but he's human and he's making up for some mistakes.
