OL walk-on
UCLA's offensive line depth could get some help after Brett Downey, an offensive lineman from Northern California, agreed to walk-on for the Bruins. He had scholarship offers from Sacramento State and Nevada, but decided walking on at UCLA was his best option.
Downey, who is 6-foot-6, 270 pounds, played at Angels Camp Bret Harte High. My source tells me Downey believes he was better than the school's offering, so he decided to go to UCLA with the hopes of earning a scholarship down the road.
Playing on the defensive side of the ball, Downey had 58 tackles, including four sacks.
