Transfer talk
UCLA is still recruiting North Carolina transfer Alex Stepheson and Kentucky transfer Derek Jasper, but neither player wanted to rush into a decision. I'm told the Bruins will likley wait for Stepheson to make a decision before Jasper's situation is resolved, unless Jasper wants to decide more quickly.
Either way, I'm still hearing Jasper is likely to wind up at UNLV. Stepheson, as was already reported, is also looking at USC, Arizona State and California.

This is Brian Dohn's sixth season covering UCLA after spending 4 1/2 years covering the Dodgers for the Daily News and other Los Angeles Newspaper Group papers. He graduated from Rutgers, where the first college football game was played in 1869. Sure, the Scarlet Knights suffered for a long time, but now RU is doing what Jerseyans always thought was possible. Winning at Rutgers also proves winning is possible everywhere else in the nation, so underachieving coaches better be careful. Now, if only men's hoops can turn it around.
The LA Times reported today that Nikola Vucevic, a 6-10 230 forward from Simi Valley Stoneridge Prep, said he has signed with USC. Further, it says USC now has a full complement of 13 schoarlship players for next season. This would seem to mean Stepheson or Jasper are not likely to go to USC.

Interesting move.
If a guy like Stepheson wants to go to USC, a scholarship will be found for him.
If he goes go to the dark side, Lil Romeo just became a walk-on.
Floyd will just revoke a scholarship from another player he may be tired of. Doesn't seem ethical but he has done it before.
I'm sure that if either Stephenson or Jasper want to go to USC, it can be done. Where there is a will, there is a way. Trust me.
