Here is the seventh grouping:

Who is going to take the Blade's number on offense???Who knows, but perhaps he broke the jinx of wearing No. 1 at UCLA.

This past year, Westbrook and Luc were considered the best defensive players on the team and were generally assigned responsibility for guarding the toughest offensive players on the opposing team. Who do you see taking over the role of defensive leader on next year's team? It is going to have to be Darren Collison on the perimeter because freshmen rarely have the ability (or knowledge) to play defense at such a high level. Inside, James Keefe better get stronger and stay healthy.

UCLA has added a 3 or 4 star qb to the roster the last few seasons with Forcier and Crissman, as well as Craft. How excited should fans be that brehaut committed given the apparent talent already at the position? Well, given UCLA asked Kevin Prince to come to school early should be an indication of what they think of Forcier at quarterback. And Craft only has two years to play, meaning Brehaut will be his teammate for one year. And given what I've been told by folks I trust about Brehaut, and that Norm Chow wanted him, I think folks should be pretty fired up because I don't think the quarterback depth is great right now.

are there any D-line recruits considering UCLA?Yes, but the Bruins are looking more at defensive ends at this point rather than tackles.

What are UCLA's chances of landing basketball recruit Michael Snaer? He's a local kid looking to play at a high level. My sources say UCLA has got a real chance for him.

do you feel that UCLA will have to perform on the football field in order to persuade this years recruits to commit? This season more than any other because a the groundwork for future classes is being laid now. There was no real groundwork laid for the 2009 class because of the coaching change, and because there was so much uncertainty about the staff until after signing day.

am I off base when I feel that UCLA will most likely end up with a not so 'glamorious' recruiting class this season, but will end up with very stellar classes within the coming years. That is the way I am leaning right now.

Has Chace Stanback picked his eventual destination? He has not. I'm getting mixed signals on Washington's interest, so I believe it could come down to UNLV and N.C. State.

how has Kevin Craft looked thus far in voluntary 7 on 7's?
Ok. He seems to throw every pass as hard as he can, and needs to get better touch on the short routes. Also, it's not that hard to look good when there is no pass rush and no offensive line to look over, or through.

Can you name 3 currently un-committed recruits whom you think will ultimately wind up playing football for the Bruins? Not really. And if you find somebody who can, please give them my email address and tell them I am looking for the Powerball numbers for the next drawing.

any reason the staff is focusing more on DE's? Though we obviously need a tealent upgrade there as well, we stand to only have two seniors and a junior in price that is planning on leaving early manning the DT position....seems like we are in much greater need there, no?

About Inside UCLA

This is Brian Dohn's sixth season covering UCLA after spending 4 1/2 years covering the Dodgers for the Daily News and other Los Angeles Newspaper Group papers. He graduated from Rutgers, where the first college football game was played in 1869. Sure, the Scarlet Knights suffered for a long time, but now RU is doing what Jerseyans always thought was possible. Winning at Rutgers also proves winning is possible everywhere else in the nation, so underachieving coaches better be careful. Now, if only men's hoops can turn it around.
