Howland on Aboya
Just had a conference call with Ben Howland. I asked him about Alfred Aboya's status next year, and he's planning on Aboya playing his final season.
``I'm counting on him coming back,'' Howland said. ``I would be devastated if he didn't come back. Anything is possible. You never know what's going to happen.''

This is Brian Dohn's sixth season covering UCLA after spending 4 1/2 years covering the Dodgers for the Daily News and other Los Angeles Newspaper Group papers. He graduated from Rutgers, where the first college football game was played in 1869. Sure, the Scarlet Knights suffered for a long time, but now RU is doing what Jerseyans always thought was possible. Winning at Rutgers also proves winning is possible everywhere else in the nation, so underachieving coaches better be careful. Now, if only men's hoops can turn it around.
good news. what is status of alex stephenson, seems to be taking long time to decide after declaring he would make quick decision.
Talked to Alex's mom a few days ago, and she said there's no new news. Alex hasn't made a decision yet.
Jill--While I love Aboya's hustle and physical play, he really hasn't progressed much as a player and I don't really see how he gets any more playing time in the coming season. What's up with Howland's love affair with AA?
