Here is the notebook I wrote for this morning’s paper. With middle linebacker Reggie Carter out with a concussion, I spoke to backup middle linebacker Steve Sloan about the importance of getting reps with the first team.
“I’m getting there,” Sloan said. “Coach (DeWayne) Walker puts so much pressure on the 2s to perform like the 1s that he’s not going to let up because you’re with the 2s. He’s pushing the 2s harder than the 1s.”
