UCLA defensive coordinator DeWayne Walker said his defense was “solid” in the scrimmage. In fact, in talking with him, he used the term “solid” a number of times to describe how the defense played.
He also said that in the 35 plays run against the first-team defense, the offense had one seven yards after contact.
