Aboya's return

| | Comments (1) |

Here is a story I wrote on Alfred Aboya saying he was returning to UCLA for his senior season. Some folks may think this was always a foregone conclusion, but it was not. As recently as two weeks ago, Aboya was still looking hard for a chance to play overseas.
That opportunity never materialized, so he told me Friday he was going to come back to UCLA.

??? So what about his grad plans? I thought THAT took precedence over playing bball...that it was between playing ball at UCLA or grad school. I guess not. The desire to play in europe is a new one to me.

About Inside UCLA

This is Brian Dohn's sixth season covering UCLA after spending 4 1/2 years covering the Dodgers for the Daily News and other Los Angeles Newspaper Group papers. He graduated from Rutgers, where the first college football game was played in 1869. Sure, the Scarlet Knights suffered for a long time, but now RU is doing what Jerseyans always thought was possible. Winning at Rutgers also proves winning is possible everywhere else in the nation, so underachieving coaches better be careful. Now, if only men's hoops can turn it around.
