Hey, folks, we're just getting started. Here is the second set of answers:

i read in one of your stories that ucla is one of the premiere football programs in the pac-10. maybe it was a jill painter story, i don't remember. but do you really think that or were you just trying to be nice because they haven't been any good for so long?
It was meant more in a historical perspective. In much of the country, when considering schools west of the Rockies, there are two that have higher profiles than any other school ...UCLA and USC.

Since it appears that Kevin Prince is getting into position to challenge for the starting job next year, what is the status on him taking his LDS mission?
Last time I talked to him about it, I got the feeling he would wait until after his playing career was over to do it.

Also, does he have any lingering effects from his knee injury?
I talked to him about it Thursday, and he said it felt great and wasn't giving him any problems.

Does UCLA have a realistic shot at any out-of-state DT prospects this year? CA appears to have a weak class.
In all honesty, at this point I don't think so.

Do you think Sean Westgate will see some playing time this year? What was the main reason he was moved from LB to S?
I think Westgate is destined to red-shirt, but never say never. He was moved to safety because UCLA has some depth issues in the secondary, and he is better suited to help there immediately.

Does UCLA have its eye on any good JC O-Line prospects this year?
They are monitoring several folks, I am told, but right now that is not their area of concentration.

Neuheisel, Chow, Walker. Democrats or Republicans?
I like dealing with each one of them, so I would hate to label them at this point. How 'bout I go with Independents.

Brian, what is the latest with Morrell Pressley? Is he still interested in UCLA, and what about Fluornoy and Randall Carroll?
I am not sure of the interest level of the players since I hear various things, but I know UCLA remains interested and will continue to recruit each of them hard.

Do we have a realistic shot with John Martinez?
I know there is a shot, but I don't know how good of one. I think when all is said and done, he will chose elsewhere.

Can you give us an example of why and how Coach Chow's offense is simpler?
Far less plays and easier reads for the quarterbacks on most plays. A higher utilization of the running backs and tight ends and hot receivers on plays.

I am going to have to get a refresher to see where the rockies are exactly but as long as they are east of the 5, then that was a nice thing to say about UCLA thanks

Neuheisel is from Arizona, so he is likely a Republican. Walker is a Californian, so he is a Democrat (we all know there are no black Republicans). Chow could go either way. Being from Hawaii, he would likely be a Democrat, but all that time in Utah could have converted him to a Republican.

About Inside UCLA

This is Brian Dohn's sixth season covering UCLA after spending 4 1/2 years covering the Dodgers for the Daily News and other Los Angeles Newspaper Group papers. He graduated from Rutgers, where the first college football game was played in 1869. Sure, the Scarlet Knights suffered for a long time, but now RU is doing what Jerseyans always thought was possible. Winning at Rutgers also proves winning is possible everywhere else in the nation, so underachieving coaches better be careful. Now, if only men's hoops can turn it around.
