Here is the 10th set of answers:

Would Chow and Neuheisel consider using two QB's in the Tennessee game?
I asked Chow that and he said, 'If you have two quarterbacks, you have no quarterback.'

Don't call it a comeback and I know he's been here for years but what do you think of Bell's performance in camp so far?
He's been good. He's running hard, bursting through the line of scrimmage and also helping the younger backs out. If you didn't know he was injured last season, you wouldn't know by watching him.

To live and coach in LA, we all know its the place to be. You really have to be here to know it...anyway..do you really think this is Walker's last year at Ucla?
I think it will be, but I don't think it is a done deal. I think there is a fair chance he is back next year because I don't think he will jump at any job.

Brian Price seems to be taking over the DLine. How has he looked to you. He seems to walk like the man.
He is the most dominating player on defense, and it is not even close. When he was saying "three and through'' during recruiting I was skeptical, but after watching him, I don't see him being at UCLA for more than three years, unless injuries factor in.

Well I was born in a small town, and I live in a small town, probably die in a small town...but how do you think Dean is adjusting to being in LA and away from home?
His off-the-field adjustment is going well, I'm told, but he's getting used to competing on the field for playing time. But when all is said and done, Dean will be running through the line of scrimmage like it was a little pink house, for you and me.

Ben was always running here and there. I bet he feels not wanted anywhere. He has always looked behind and never liked what he would find. I just hope he knows that he always has a place to go...how is his spirits? Has he been trying to be positive about his situation?
Olson is bummed because his season could be over and a shot at playing beyond college may have been carted off the field when he came off the field on the cart last week.

I know scholies are a one year deal, but will Trevor Theriot remain on scholarship beyond this year?
I am told he will be on scholarship the rest of his time at UCLA. Plus, the coaching staff really likes him as an offensive weapon.

Brian, Love is a battlefield, true, but is he a true D1 safety?
Love will hit you with his best shot, but I'm not sure he can cover that great. In other words, too early to tell, but I know there is concern about his knowledge of the defense.

With the light's on....Chow's more dangerous...at the Rose Bowl...will he entertain us?
Sure, but my guess is not as much as you want. That could be a year or two away, but just keep up the (teen) spirit and it should work out in the long run.

Regarding Chase Moline - I recall that he was seriously considering taking a medical retirement a year or more ago because of problems with his neck - isn't that right? Was the problem cured? Or was it diagnosed as being not as serious as it was then thought to be?
He thought his career was over, but rest seemed to do the trick. It was something involving the disks in his neck, and he would get headaches whenever he was hit. However, all has worked out fine.

geez how can G Love not know the defensive playbook, this is his 2 year in the system.

a true freshmen like R Moore just arrived and is running with 1's so he must know the defense with only a few weeks.

On Moose Theriot. I just wrote an extensive story for HS sports today. Theriot is one of the key offensive weapons in the PAC 10 and most likely one of the most talented big backs in America. Theriot could have gone anywhere his sr. year at Newport Harbor all the while the national experts including Rivals, Scout, HS Sports, all failed despite Theriot's size, strength, Shrine Game MVP, CIF Player of the Year, and GPA. Theriot is an example of a total failure of the experts to find a future NFL star of Div.1 perhaps Heisman candidate or Playboy All American. UCLA got him because of the father's loyalty - ex UCLA legend in track. The deal was by dorrell - top 2 on the depth chart full ride. Theriot beat out Pitre and still waited a season for the full ride, UCLA then came thru big. Theriot is on course under Chow to be the next Theotis Brown. Very unlikley to be a non ride Theotis Brown. Theriot is the real deal and if anyone watched this week at practice he is faster than anyone had realized, except those that know he runs 4.5 at 240 and is the strongest man on the UCLA team.

About Inside UCLA

This is Brian Dohn's sixth season covering UCLA after spending 4 1/2 years covering the Dodgers for the Daily News and other Los Angeles Newspaper Group papers. He graduated from Rutgers, where the first college football game was played in 1869. Sure, the Scarlet Knights suffered for a long time, but now RU is doing what Jerseyans always thought was possible. Winning at Rutgers also proves winning is possible everywhere else in the nation, so underachieving coaches better be careful. Now, if only men's hoops can turn it around.
