Answers, Part XV

Yikes, folks. That was a lot of questions, and I thank everyone for it. This is the most popular segment of the blog, so I hope the information is helpful. Now, onto the final set of answers:

you said knox lacks speed and so did markey. can u compare the 2 just on speed so to get an idea of knoxs speed
I love Knox's vision and ability to move in the hole. I haven't seen him in the open field enough to judge against Markey, but I do believe Knox is a better back.

Let's hypothetically say I'm a 4 star legit recruit from the area. I have some interest in playing for and attending UCLA, but I'm worried the coaching staff other than Neuheisel won't be around that much longer. What is going to persuade me to go gold and bruin blue?
Assistant coaches rarely stay at schools for more than four years anyway and you get a very good education for free. Plus, picking a school shouldn't be all about the assistant coaches.

What is the chemistry like between the all the coaches especially Rick and his two coordinators Norm and DeWayne?
The chemistry is fine. Neuheisel spends 70 percent of his time with the offense, so Walker is off doing his own thing. They all get along, and so far have been able to keep their egos out of the equation.

What does Rick do during the practices? He is hands on and does he work with the defense as well as the offense?
He works hard with the receivers, and the quarterbacks. He is hands on and isn't afraid to jump all over a player for doing something wrong, or praise him for doing something right. He is much more quiet with the defense, but he does move around the field quickly and also tries to get the energy level up when he thinks it is faltering.

About Inside UCLA

This is Brian Dohn's sixth season covering UCLA after spending 4 1/2 years covering the Dodgers for the Daily News and other Los Angeles Newspaper Group papers. He graduated from Rutgers, where the first college football game was played in 1869. Sure, the Scarlet Knights suffered for a long time, but now RU is doing what Jerseyans always thought was possible. Winning at Rutgers also proves winning is possible everywhere else in the nation, so underachieving coaches better be careful. Now, if only men's hoops can turn it around.
