Hoopster on the gridiron
Forgot to mention this a few times, but I will now. UCLA basketball commit Reeves Nelson, a power forward out of Modesto Christrian High, went out for the football team. From what I've heard, he is a tight end/defensive end.

About Inside UCLA
This is Brian Dohn's sixth season covering UCLA after spending 4 1/2 years covering the Dodgers for the Daily News and other Los Angeles Newspaper Group papers. He graduated from Rutgers, where the first college football game was played in 1869. Sure, the Scarlet Knights suffered for a long time, but now RU is doing what Jerseyans always thought was possible. Winning at Rutgers also proves winning is possible everywhere else in the nation, so underachieving coaches better be careful. Now, if only men's hoops can turn it around.About this Entry

why
he's a 5-star recruit for basketball.. if he had to try out for the football team, i don't think there's much threat of him choosing a walk-on role over a spot on the starting 5.
college is a time for experimentation, is it not?
Howland LOVES physical players. Good luck Reeves.
he meant at his high school, considering that he is a high school senior right now.
Has Reeves played football in HS previously? I'm a little nervous he's trying the Tony Gonzalez route much less playing both ways...
