More Craft
UCLA quarterback Kevin Craft is quiet and reserved during interviews, but he is a very good competitor on the field, and not afraid of getting hit, or dishing out hits. He's also a good athlete, which offensive coordinator Norm Chow told me the other day.
Valley Center High in San Diego ran the run-oriented wing-t offense when he was a junior, so he played receiver, safety, tight end, linebacker and cornerback and also returned punts and kicks.
"I was good enough to play wherever they needed to plug me in,'' Craft said. "My senior year, it was a normal offense, so I played quarterback."

This is

So... Now all of a sudden Craft is a worthy quarterback? All we were hearing from the entire media all summer is that Craft couldn't start on a girl's JV squad, let alone UCLA.
To be fair though, Dohn, you have been pretty gracious toward our QBs. But I'm anxious to see if our O'Line is indeed as bad as you have saying all summer. I'm gonna laugh if our offense pours 30 points on Tennessee.
ONLY 4 MORE DAYS!!!!!!
Oregon State v. Stanford tonight!!! WOO!!!
It's good to hear he doesn't appear to be fazed by getting hit. Regardless of whether UT gets a lot of sacks on Monday, Craft is going to be hit a ton. It's how he responds to that contact that's going to go a long way to determining how successful we are on offense.
I don't care what anyone says, Ben Olsen sure could take a hit.... lol ..... [cricket] ....
VB,
Where does it say that Craft can or cannot play? This is a problem I have with some comments on blogs and on message boards. Something gets posted, and folks run with it, and make it something it is not.
It is an item about his athleticism, which doesn't mean he can or cannot play. Perhaps the most athletic person on UCLA's squad is Osaar Rasshan, but that didn't translate to success at quarterback. And, please keep in mind, Craft is a third-string quarterback. It is not as if he was beating out call comers for the position. He is starting because of two other injuries.
It is interesting that anybody would take a blogger seriously. Hide behind the pen (computer) and anybody can be outrageous. The same is true in driving, anonymity breeds false bravado.
Few here are picked on more than I, I guess the bruins think they can insult me, but I don't know these people so they cannot hurt me. This blog is supposed to be fun, and it is for me. So bring it on. All of it.
P.S. Last time I checked I was not in China but the USofA, and so I don't see any law against cross-over comments from Scott Wolf to Brian Dohn or vice-versa, as some bloggers contend is a misdeameanor. Mssrs Wolf and Dohn are very different writers and their information often inspires me to comment.
It's like Bill Clinton's speech last night...he could have easily inserted his wife's name instead of Obama's. The point is, K-Craft is our guy whether you like it or not so we have to get on board and pull for him like no other (at least for the Tennessee game).
TRUTH - what in the world are you babbling about??
You and VB should start your own blog - perhaps, whineynarcissists.blogspot.com is available?
Best of luck to Craft and the Bruins on Labor Day - Beat the Vols!
