OL reset

UCLA's first-team offensive line in the scrimmage consisted of LT Micah Kia, LG Sonny Tevaga, C Micah Reed, RG Darius Savage and RT Nick Ekbatani.
However, one thing I'm hearing is Tevaga's spot is in question, and there are two candidates -- Scott Glicksberg and Jess Ward. But both of those players underscore the issues of UCLA's offensive line, which did not perform well in the scrimmage.
I'm hearing the choice would be to go with Glicksberg, but he went through the spring with a separated shoulder, and there is concern how long he can last this season with a shoulder that continues to give him problems.
And then there is Ward. I'm told he is in the mix, but he may not be cleared for contact until the end of this week because of December knee surgery. Also, that UCLA is looking at Ward, who was moved from defensive tackle last weeks, shows the searching process that is ongoing.

About Inside UCLA

This is Brian Dohn's sixth season covering UCLA after spending 4 1/2 years covering the Dodgers for the Daily News and other Los Angeles Newspaper Group papers. He graduated from Rutgers, where the first college football game was played in 1869. Sure, the Scarlet Knights suffered for a long time, but now RU is doing what Jerseyans always thought was possible. Winning at Rutgers also proves winning is possible everywhere else in the nation, so underachieving coaches better be careful. Now, if only men's hoops can turn it around.
