Olson hurt
UCLA coach Rick Neuheisel said quarterback Ben Olson re-injured his surgically-repaired foot during a non-contact drill midway through practice. Olson is undergoing x-rays, and could have an MRI on Sunday.
Neuheisel said it was on the same play Olson broke the fifth metatarsal in his foot in the spring.
The extent of the injury is not yet known, but Olson was carted off the field.
Kevin Craft took the snaps with the first team, and Kevin Prince and Chris Foricer had second-team reps. In fact, Forcier looked sharp late in the practice and continued to get snaps.
OMG.
what a shame if its serious as this offense needs a senior leader right now.
I just don't see Olson making it thru the year even if he gets passed this one. Time to start fresh with a new guy. Bring on the Prince.

And here I thought he'd start 2 or 3 games before getting injured for the season. I know there hasn't been a diagnosis yet, but it seems to be one of those nagging injuries that just eliminate a player's effectiveness. It's really too bad. He seemed to be a nice guy and such a promising prospect 4 years ago. It is indeed time to start fresh with Craft being the transition qb and Forcier/Crissman/Brehaut being the long term leaders.
I don't even think wrapping him head to toe in bubble wrap would prevent him from injury. Big black cloud hovering over that guy. It's time to close the book on his career and move on to more durable prospects.
unfortunately sometimes a highly touted recruit just doesn't pan out at the next level because of injury or failed to adjust. Olson is not the first and won't be the last, best of luck to him at his next endeavor.

Although most thought it was inevitable given Olson's injury history, I thought it wouldn't come until around the 3rd or 4th game. Unfortunately, it's time to move on from Olson NOW.
CAN WE PLEASE JUST GIVE UP ON THIS OLSON GUY????? THE DUDE CAN'T GO ONE PRACTICE, LET ALONE ONE GAME WITHOUT GETTING INJURED!!!. GIVE BEN SOME MIDOL AND LET'S MOVE ON TO THE NEXT QB!!
