Position changes

Cornerback Tony Dye has been moved to safety as UCLA looks to settle its secondary depth. The one freshman who is impressing the most is Rahim Moore, who may wind up swinging between safety and corner, with nickel responsibilities mixed in.
Also, Nick Ekbatani, who began camp at right tackle, split time with the first team between tackle and right guard. That allowed converted tight end Nate Chandler to spend time with the first unit at right tackle. Chandler also spent time with the second team at right tackle.
Jake Dean also is taking snaps at guard after moving from center.

About Inside UCLA

This is Brian Dohn's sixth season covering UCLA after spending 4 1/2 years covering the Dodgers for the Daily News and other Los Angeles Newspaper Group papers. He graduated from Rutgers, where the first college football game was played in 1869. Sure, the Scarlet Knights suffered for a long time, but now RU is doing what Jerseyans always thought was possible. Winning at Rutgers also proves winning is possible everywhere else in the nation, so underachieving coaches better be careful. Now, if only men's hoops can turn it around.
