QB Ben Olson said he said out of drills because his surgically-repaired foot was sore, but he expected to be back on the field Saturday.
Kevin Craft took the reps with the first team in Olson's place, and was inconsistent. Kevin Prince took the second-team offense reps for an offense that was sporadic throughout the day.
Glenn Love spent part of the day playing strong safety with the first team defense ahead of Rahim Moore.
On the injury front, WR Terrence Austin sat out with a sore foot, but it is not considered serious, and DT Brian Price left practice early because of the heat.
UCLA coach Rick Neuheisel said LB Josh Edwards would have an x-ray Monday on the stress fracture in his foot, and was hopeful he could begin practicing next week.
