Post-practice Thursday

UCLA broke into scout team and first- and second-team offenses and defenses for practice today as preparation for Tennessee kicked into high gear.
Neuheisel said "I think it was the best first day I've seen for scouts."
There was also another development on the offensive line as guard Scott Glicksberg worked out at left tackle, which will be a safety valve is Micah Kia cannot play against Tennessee and Brandon Bennett has trouble.
When asked about whether Kai Forbath or Jimmy Rotstein will kick off, Neuheisel said Rotstein "is heading that contest right now, but we'll see."
Neuheisel added Terrence Austin and Raymond Carter were the leaders to return kicks, and Austin was leading to be the punt returner while Ryan Graves was second string.

About Inside UCLA

This is Brian Dohn's sixth season covering UCLA after spending 4 1/2 years covering the Dodgers for the Daily News and other Los Angeles Newspaper Group papers. He graduated from Rutgers, where the first college football game was played in 1869. Sure, the Scarlet Knights suffered for a long time, but now RU is doing what Jerseyans always thought was possible. Winning at Rutgers also proves winning is possible everywhere else in the nation, so underachieving coaches better be careful. Now, if only men's hoops can turn it around.
