Rose Bowl scrimmage update
UCLA staged a walk-through/practice at the Rose Bowl today, and it was uneventful. Bruins coach Rick Neuheisel said quarterback Kevin Craft looked much better than he did Friday, when he was plagued by interceptions.
Neuheisel also said Kevin Prince, a freshman, took reps with the second team offense, but at this time Chris Forcier remained the backup.
Neuheisel added tailback Kahlil Bell could be expected to take part in 50 to 70 percent of the plays against Tennessee, and that Chane Moline would be his first backup, followed closely by Raymond Carter.
Also, quarterback Osaar Rasshan did not practice today because of a sore knee.

This is Brian Dohn's sixth season covering UCLA after spending 4 1/2 years covering the Dodgers for the Daily News and other Los Angeles Newspaper Group papers. He graduated from Rutgers, where the first college football game was played in 1869. Sure, the Scarlet Knights suffered for a long time, but now RU is doing what Jerseyans always thought was possible. Winning at Rutgers also proves winning is possible everywhere else in the nation, so underachieving coaches better be careful. Now, if only men's hoops can turn it around.
As an east coast Bruin unable to see practices and games live anymore, I really appreciate your blog. I used to depend on the internet version of the LATimes and Daily News columns, but there is never enough info to meet the need of a true Blue and Golder.
By the way, one aspect I miss from Bob Toledo's days, other than the teams being competitive, is the jersey numerals! I realize that Rick N has no connection to that era, but the script numbers on UCLA-blue with the gold helemts made me a fan in their first incarnation in the 60s(?) when watching the USC/UCLA games from the blustery east.
Look where going back to the block numbers got the team under the well-meaning, but out of his depth Karl D.!!!
agreed. the only time i think we ever really need to make corrections (assuming its understandable) is when it comes to the wrong players' names being used, which has happened a few times.
