Coaches vs. Cancer pod

| | Comments (2) |

The Pauley Pavilion pod is tentatively set for the first two rounds of the Coaches vs. Cancer basketball tournament. UCLA is set to play Prairie View A&M (as previously reported) in one bracket, and Weber State is going to tangle with Miami, Ohio, in the other game on Nov. 12.
The winner's play the follow day, with the winner of the group heading to Madison Square Garden for the semifinals and finals of the tournament. The other pods hosts are Michigan, Duke and Southern Illinois, with the expectation each of those teams will advance.
And, lest anyone forget, Bruins coach Ben Howland is a Weber State alum.

About Inside UCLA

This is Brian Dohn's sixth season covering UCLA after spending 4 1/2 years covering the Dodgers for the Daily News and other Los Angeles Newspaper Group papers. He graduated from Rutgers, where the first college football game was played in 1869. Sure, the Scarlet Knights suffered for a long time, but now RU is doing what Jerseyans always thought was possible. Winning at Rutgers also proves winning is possible everywhere else in the nation, so underachieving coaches better be careful. Now, if only men's hoops can turn it around.
