Mornin’ all. Hope everyone enjoys the weekend, although it may seem a little slow with UCLA off. Here is the 14th set of answers:
Before the Tennessee game, Coach Neuheisel said that when he took the field he was going to have people who had supported him over the years accompany him. Did this happen and if so, do you know who the people were?
I don’t know who took the field with him.
Do you have any idea what happened to Jim Thomas who used to cover the UCLA beat for the Daily Breeze newspaper before the Breeze started carrying your work?
I believe he still works at the paper.
with the enormous popularity of the q & a section, is there any way to possibly separate basketball and football questions? make it a little easier to sift through.
No, there isn’t. As it is, this week’s Q&A took me more than five hours to answer and post. Separating them would take at least another hour. Sorry, but everything can’t be perfect.
there are a lot of rumors floating around about tyler honeycut, michael snaer, roger franklin, abdul gaddy and avery bradley. any info on any of them, soon to be bruins?, soon to be elsewhere?, not gonna anything soon?
Got me. Anything can happen at any time in recruiting, but I don’t expect anything for a few weeks. And, as of now, I think the frontrunners to wind up at UCLA are Honeycutt and Anthony Stover, and Gaddy after that.
could you best estimate how many football scholarships we have avaible for the 2009 class
The NCAA maximum of 25.
are u surprised that UCLA is ranked after only 1 win?
No, because I think the majority of voters don’t put much time into it, and I think they have no idea how to vote in polls.
is it true that Tyler Lamb is attending Mater Dei now?
Not that I heard, but I will check it out.
What’s going on with Josh Shipp? Have you seen him play this summer and if so, how does he look? This is the first summer in a long time that he’s healthy and hasn’t been in the operating room.
I saw him play a few weeks ago and his body looks fantastic. However, in the pickup games I saw, he was content to shoot as many 3-pointers as humanly possible, and the results weren’t anything to get excited about.
Which unit on the offense and defense needs the biggest talent upgrade?
Offense, and it’s not even close.
some people at espn have been showing skepticism over pac 10 officiating dating back to that one oregon game last year (was it OU? i dont remember). these same people say the two reviews on opposite goal lines that went in ucla’s favor were questionable decisions. what do you think of the final decisions and is the questioning of pac 10 officiating warranted?
Dang, some of these questions are just too darn long. In short, the reviews were tough to tell because of poor camera angles. As for Pac-10 officiating, I think it is brutal. Perhaps the only worse BCS conference when it comes to officiating is the Big East.
