Answers, Part XV

Folks, here is the 15th set of answers:

How did the coaches feel about Jake Dean’s performance va. UA? Darius Savage’s?
Dean’s performance was termed “ok,” and Savage did better than average.

what is the morale like around the program?
It’s ok right now because they still have nine games remaining, and believe many of the problems are correctable.

how are the players reacting to all the recent press about their lack of talent? do they feel like the coaches sold them out?
The players aren’t stupid. The former coach got fired because of a lack of talent in the program. And I don’t think the coaches sold them out, nor do the players think that. In fact, the coaches are trying to protect the players.

Are the coaches pleased with how Baca played against UA or just disgusted with Kia?
Yes, and yes.

How many TE’s does UCLA want to bring in with this recruiting class?
One or two would be fine. It depends on whether Logan Paulsen comes back this season, or winds up red-shirting.

Did you expect the O to look so, well,…Dorrellian?
Yes. I wrote about the offensive problems during training camp plenty of times.

Maybe Dorrell, like Neuheisel, adapted his system to fit his players. Don’t you think the O’s look remarkably similar in play design, playcalling patterns (run, pass, pass, punt), etc., so far?
No, I think there is great variation between what was going on the last few seasons compared to this season …until the ball is snapped.

Has Chow lost his mojo?
No, he just doesn’t have much talent to work with.
