..and these are friends who donate serious dollars themselves to the athletic department.

Wow, there's leadership in the Athletic Dept? Add this latest marketing blunder to the ridiculous "No More Monopoly" ad and you have to wonder.

Other than hiring Howland, what had DG accomplished? The football program. The Pauley project. The non-rev sports, as a whole. All are stagnant, if not worse off under his watch.

Sure, he was able to get rid of Gary Adams (long overdue). I guess that counts for something.

It doesn't really matter now, since the game is only two days away. Most out of town visitors have ordered tickets already. The ad probably wasn't going to run these final days anyway. They are probably just claiming that is was "pulled" so UCLA fans will think something was done about it.

Hey Dohn, how is the UCLA AD doing financially? Have to ask given the mess in the wider world.

Given the desperate attempts to draw FSU fans to a football game, should we be aware of any financial challenges impacting the AD?

Unfortunately, the Pauley project is nowhere (and will likely stay that way now). I hope regular AD operations continue to be on steady ground.

Perhaps the X-generation bruin boys who ran the ads can take their marketing talents over to SC and lure the Trojans to the Fresno State Bowl game.

The SC "fans" and ucla "fans" have something in common, afterall, and that is they are both Los Angeles fans. Meaning?-- they are all the same, line 'em up and one could not tell the difference: fairweather, unspirited, spoiled, egotistical, you name it.

Want to see real fans?-- Then travel to South Bend or Auburn or Corvallis.

And speaking of Corvallis, gotta love the game of football. It is a game of momentum where the little guy does have a chance. And the "monopoly," what an anomoly, is now officially over.
