Answers, Part IV
Here is the fourth installment:
I know Brian Price is loaded with NFL potential but what about his partner in crime Harwell? He is so strong at the point of attack and he has amazing sideline to sideline speed for a DT. Have you head any whispers about his NFL stock?
Harwell has NFL potential, but he is not nearly as athletic as Price. Harwell must show he can stay healthy for a season. From what I'm hearing, right now he would be a late-round draft pick, but it's much too early to talk about that because his stock could change with so much of his senior season remaining.
Paulsen's out for an extended amount of time so could we see Chandler move back to TE?
I don't think so. He'd have to drop at least 15 pounds to go back there, and it's not as if he was an exceptional blocking tight end or pass receiver. And if it was going to happen, it would have happened this week.
Can you provide a list of recruits that attended the Tennessee game?
Here is the list that ran on the blog earlier this week.
With the commitment of Tyler Lamb, how does the coaching staff feel in terms of 09 and 10 recruiting? Was Lamb one of the top targets that the staff was after?
The '09 class has a lot of work to do, but I think it will turn out fine. It's a double-edged sword with recruiting at a high level. You get great talent, but it gets harder to attract an elite class every year because of playing time issues.
As for Lamb, he was one of the top targets. He's a class of '10 kid, so it's not as if UCLA is going to start offering everyone in the '10 class right away.
Didn't see much of Aundre Dean...I would have expected that with Bell's injury we would have seen more. Is he a distant third option after Bell and Carter for now or was there something else to it this week?
The only way you saw Dean was on the sideline. He did not play. He was a distant option, but it was fourth. Chane Moline was also in the mix, but I suspect Dean could be more involved against BYU.
Does the coaching staff generally agree with your grades on the Tennessee game? Which areas were they pleased/disappointed in considering the circumstances?
I rarely discuss the grades with the coaches. Unless they bring something up, I don't make it habit to discuss more stories with them.
In a nutshell, they were happy with pass protection, the receivers catching passes, the play of the defense, the special teams and the effort and belief the team showed in not folding.
As for what they need to work on, there were blown assignments by the linebackers and secondary that led to some big running plays, quarterback Kevin Craft kept forcing the ball in the first half, the running game was awful and the pooch kick at the end of the game was too short.
How many UCLA fans are expected to make the trek to BYU?
I don't know. That is something for next week. That said, in my experience covering UCLA, a would say a few hundred, and most of that will be friends, family and big donors.
How many season tickets have UCLA sold so far? Have we hit the 50,000 mark?
When I checked before the Tennessee game is just shy of 50,000.
Who would currently be the third tight end after Moya and Harkey? Do you expect Moya or Harkey to get the majority of the playing time at tight end? Does Chow use alot of two tight end sets and, if so, does Paulson's injury impact that line of playcalling?
Jeff Miller is the third tight end, so I expect Moya and Harkey to get the majority of the snaps. Two tight end sets is not something I expect to see much of from Chow.

Two new Bruin committs.
Loyola junior RB Anthony Barr and junior TE John Young have committed to UCLA, according to a Loyola booster club member. (Do a search on Google news with their names)
Loyola junior RB Anthony Barr and junior TE John Young have received offers from UCLA, according to Cubs Coach Jeff Kearin.
Barr, who has already received an offer from Notre Dame, is coming off a strong sophomore season and is considered one of the top RBs in the Southland. Young will also play a key role in Loyola's quest to challenge Crespi and Notre Dame for the Serra League title.
LA Times changed their intial statement. What I initially stated was how the LA Times stated it.
It looks like Loyola QB Jerry Neuheisel is already playing the Pied Piper for UCLA...
The Rivals website has Anthony Barr listed at 6'4" 220.
