Here is the 18th set of answers:

With all these journalists, websites, blogs and recruiting services, are elite high school players and their families inundated by calls about their recruitment or is there something that controls the apparent madness?
I use self control and work with the families and recruits so not to bother them incessantly, but I know that is not the case for everyone.

I understand that Brian Price missed several games last season because the NCAA clearing house had not cleared him to play. But what exactly happened? Who dropped the ball?
The proper paperwork for all his transcripts were not sent to the NCAA. I blame UCLA because the school goes through this stuff all the time, so it knows protocol. It was the Price family's first time going through it, so they needed guidance.

How are Pat Larimore and Donovan Carter looking so far?
Average, at best. Carter needs to be in better shape.

Dont we need forwards and centers for the next few years with our current team? Why are they going after all these guards?

They are going after all the positions, but the ones people are hearing about down the line are the guards, because they are the ones committing from the 2010 class. But UCLA is hot after some interior players as well, including Anthony Stover from the 2009 class.

neuheisel has such a reputation as a slimeball because of colorado and washington.
how many people in those states and across the nation (where ever the ncaa is located) do you think are hoping that he fails miserably at ucla?
I don't like the name calling, but will answer the question anyway. Probably every person who roots for Colorado and Washington and doesn't have a personal relationship with him is rooting for him to fail.

The depth at Defensive Tackle looks pretty bad, how come UCLA has such a hard time recruiting this position?
The depth is actually good this season, but the problem is there aren't many quality defensive tackles in the high school football world.

How much do you think the Tennessee win will help UCLA recruiting?
Not much. It opens the eyes of some people, but if UCLA loses is next three games, it will severely diminish any good that came from Labor Day. In other words, recruiting is a cumulative process, not something that explodes because of one game.

You hear stories about recruits getting mail from programs every single day, in some cases multiple hand-signed letters from coaches daily for months. How does this actually get a kid to commit? It seems like it would scare the crap out of me.
It doesn't. It just makes a kid feel like he is getting "loved'' by the school, and that he is a high priority.

Do you think the Bruins have a legit shot at the four Trojan recruits (Matt Barkley, Morrell Presley, Kevin Graf and Randall Carroll) at the Tennessee game?
I have yet to confirm Barkley was there. Not saying he wasn't, but some folks I asked said he was not. But I think it is an outside, outside shot at each of the other three kids.
