haha dohn as much as i crave constant posts to keep me entertained, this one was sort of unnecessary.
Don't stop him, SHMF!
BD, please MORE:
1. What color was the bus?
2. Did they wear UCLA sweats?
3. How many iPod earbuds did you count?
4. Were they carrying their luggage in their left hand or right?
5. Did they have their 'game face' on?
Brian this blog is so far superior to anything the Bruin family has ever had.
Please disregard the outbreak of juvenile remarks that have been appearing lately.
Thanks
I know Salt Lake City and it is not an hour ride from the airport to downtown, even at "rush" hour. 20-minutes tops. Maybe Mr. Dohn was rounding it off, but it would have made for a more interesting read (and more true) to show that this is small-town USA, folks.
But I like the compact town, and the people are nicer and kinder than L.A. people. But, then, where in America is this not the case? Even abrasive New Yorkers are superior because they are more honest i.e. "No, I won't do lunch with you because quite frankly you are a bore!"
Thanks for the info Brian. I didn't know that the team arrives this late. I'd much rather see them do their walk-throughs at least 24 hours before kickoff.
Wow, this seems much later than the normal schedule for UCLA when they are on the road. Don't they usually arrive on a Thursday? Is it because Utah is so close?
ONLYTHELIES:
If you know SLC but didn't realize that BYU is in PROVO then I am happy to teach you more about the greater SLC metro area. I am sure the team is staying closer to PROVO than SLC. Just a guess on my part...
ONLYTHETRUTH,
According to mapquest, the airport is 50 miles from the team hotel. Also, with traffic since they landed at rush hour, even with a police escort it was an hour.
And since I made the same trip before the team, I was quite comfortable knowing it wasn't 20 minutes, that is unless I was driving 120 miles an hour or so.
ONLYTHETRUTH, you are too funny. Obviously an expert in "Geology", just like fellow Toejam Petros. BYU is in Provo. 60 miles from the SLC airport. One hour from the airport. Stick with subjects you know something about, like playing in a stadium next to Graybar Hotel.
it's almost too embarrassing to note that bradleybruin probably meant geography. YIKES!
on another note, i think writing ONLYTHELIES has grown less witty every time it's done.
My bad, I stand corrected. Mr. Dohn is right.
I always stay in Salt Lake City, a 20-minute ride from the airport, even when going to a game in Provo. But of course a football team would be staying as close to the stadium as possible, especially with a 12:30 kickoff.
Been wrong before; will be wrong again! I seek the Truth; that does not mean I always find it.
3:54 AM ?!?
ONLYTHEDOUCHE
That's right, Michael Fey, to bed by 9:00 p.m. and up at around 3 a.m. Been doing it for years. Time is short, life is short, and there is much to be done such as trying to save the world from men destroying it.
By the way, why do you use feminine terminology as an insult?
And you cannot be related to 'StillHatesMichaelFey,' despite plagiarizing his monikor, because that chap has a pretty good head on his shoulders.
For those that haven't heard the sound bite (STMF), here is where the "Geology" comment came from. In the Oregon-Washington game, FSN commentators Barry Tompkins and Petros had this exchange when discussing Ducks QB Justin Roper, who comes from Georgia.
Tompkins: "Roper admitted that about the only thing he knew about Oregon was that it is next to California"
Petros: "Well, at least he knows his Geology"
