What happened to Osaar Rashaan? At least we used to hear that his knees were bothering him and keeping him out of practice, but it didn't sound like a long term injury. Now he doesn't seem to be mentioned at all.

(1) What was the mood like around practice this week as opposed to last week?
(2) Are UCLA coaches (in recruiting circles) seen as more credible because many of the coaches have worked at the NFL level?
(3) Is Kyle Van Noy (LB Recruit) seriously considering UCLA for football?

Any idea who wins out in a competition next year between Kevin Prince and Richard Brehaut? And is Kevin Prince a 3-year starter type, or a holdover until Richard Brehaut gets into the offense?

The defense has not been able to stop the run in either of the first two games, a result which is uncharacteristic of Dwayne Walker defenses. Is a major problem that the team has not found adequate replacements for Taylor, Horton, Keyes and Davis? Or is it that opposing teams are doing a better job adjusting to Walker's schemes? Or might it merely be that UCLA played two teams with excellent offensive lines and running backs?

You mentioned in last weeks forum that Hester isn't playing because he struggles with zones. However, in my view, the reason that Max Hall decimated us was that every time he dropped back, he knew our corners were man up. It seemingly made his job very easy. Am I wrong?

If you looked at other stadiums even the Coliseum, the end zones are painted with bright color with background. How come our end zones just painted with words with no background? Only South Bend and State College looked more dull than ours.

What happened to Damien Holmes? I thought he was supposed to be an impact player, even though he is a freshman. We have heard nary a word about him

We're hearing that Renaldo Sydney may be following Brandon Jenning's footsteps by going to Europe. Is this one of many reasons that we're shunning away from him?

Even during the Dorrell days of bad coaching, I dont think the football was as embarrased as the BYU game. Regardless of talent of the team, how can you not say that coaching (or lack there of) has a lot to do with the result? Do you still think that UCLA has one of the best coaching staff after the BYU game?

What type of changes will the commitment of Honeycutt have on other recruits? Whow will be the priority now that Honeycutt has committed? Who will become less of a priority? Will there even be someone that will not be recruited now?

What are the chances of Forcier transferring..considering he's being beat out by a true freshman?

What's with all the hype on Brehaut? Is he really that legit? Not that rankings matter much, but he's only the 11th rated QB in his class (Scout). Crissman was rated 9th in 08 and hardly received any fanfare.

Will UCLA rebound from the thrashing at BYU and defeat Arizona on Saturday?

Seems like the NCAA investigations into USC's Reggie Bush and OJ Mayo are taking painstaking long amounts of time to get anywhere. Is that because USC is a private school? The paper trails and testimonies are all there for both cases. When are we going to see some NCAA verdicts and what do you think they'd be?

You mentioned a while back that some OL are more talented than others. What goes into qualifying the talent of an OL?

What type of sanctions will Arizona get with the recent recruiting violations? Do you think they will challenge UCLA for the supremacy of PAC10 basketball anytime soon?

Is there any consideration being given to redshirting Kyle Bosworth since his injury will keep him out for at least the next couple of games and may hamper him for the rest of the season?

Unfortunately (or perhaps fortunately), I did not sign up for Versus, thus missed the BYU game. How come the Defensive Stats does not show a single tackle for Brian Price? Does this indicate that we were beaten up not only on our weakness, but our strengths as well?

I think Reggie Carter is the leader of our defense and probably the best tackler, so why is it that he comes off the field a lot on 3rd downs? I never see any other teams take out there star MLB on 3rd down? He's fast and always a threat to blitz, bust up a play or drop back and make a tackle, if he's off the field the threat is no longer existint.

He can't be that bad atdefending the pass or can he?

Westgate has a knack for the ball and so does Ayers will we see a lot of them on Saturday?

Norris is not a D-1 CB, when are we going to forget about seniority and start Viney in his place? WHat will our secondary be against Zonas spread offense?

I think you have to point to our DE's being too slow off the ball or getting blocked to easily, would you give Edison, Datone Jones and Anyanwu a shot? Why?

Why don’t they get that as long as they have more stringent academic requirements than 99 percent of the programs out there they never will be able to sustain any level of meaningful success in football?
And the incessant hammering of Karl Dorrell, what’s up with that? I am not defending him at all – he needed to be fired. But the problems at UCLA were there before Dorrell got there and they will always exist.
Take the o-line as an example. Do you remember how many scholarship offensive linemen he had when he got there? Nine (with one senior and three juniors), or, six less than a Division I program should have.
Hire a coach with no recruiting contacts in the area, couple that with high academic standards, and what does anyone realistically expect UCLA is going to get?
All those fans clamoring for Pac-10 titles and all that should take a reality pill twice a day and on Saturday’s go to the Rose Bowl, get in some good grub at a tailgate, relax and enjoy the sunshine and make sure their money is on whoever is playing the Bruins - minus the points. Having seen the practices (and generally knowing UCLA's game plan) prior to the BYU game, do you stand by your F grade for the coaching (as it appears certain players weren't giving max effort or following the game plan), or is that included in the coaching grade as well?

How is Dean looking with his injury? If he hadn't been injured, do you think he would have been seriously considered for the starting RB position? Or is he still struggling with blocking assignments?

With the BYU game, do you think it will have negative impact on this year's recruiting? Even with prospects of early PT, a thrashing like that cannot look good to a recruit.

Let me start by saying I hate USC and am a huge bruin fan. I've heard and read that SC practices are 100% hard hitting and very competitive (the games are easy for them)..i think that reflects well on how they perform in games. Do you think UCLA is to worried about injuries to practice like SC or is it just that our starters are secure in there jobs?

Any chance of seeing Trevor Theriot run the ball? I think it is a big mistake to not put the ball in his hands with his size, strength, and speed. Also any chance of getting the ball into some playmakers hands such as Ossar and Forcier in a position other than at QB? It seems as though we may have some excellent athletes that are not being utilized.

I read most of our freshman RB’s don’t play because they don’t pick up the blitz or because they make other freshman mistakes in practice…with as pathetic as our running game is would you throw that out the window and let them play? Joe McKnight can’t block but Pete still plays him. I think you have to play your best athletes if you want to win.

Do you think in college football some talented players with little experience you have to just let them learn on the job? I.E. Verner 2 years ago

Due to the recent problems running the ball you have to ask yourself does the new coaching staff know what they have on the bench. I know Milton Knox is an unproven freshman but I followed this kid for a while and remember him as a 14 year old high school varsity freshman who was All-City on Defense and scored twice in the city championship game to help beat a heavy favored Dorsey team. The same kid who during his senior year ran behind a line with no returning starters(sound familiar) and still run for over 2000 yards and due to blow outs did not play in the second halves in over half the games. This kid broke every career rushing record (points, yards, Touchdowns). I know it is too early to panic but I thought the staff promised to play the best players.

gaddy and bradly just signed with other schools. those were 2 recruits ucla wanted. do you think that hurts there recruiting class and who do you think howland is going after hard that we will sign?

If Walker leaves do you see him taking his assistants with him,specifically the Linebacker and D-Line Coaches?

Bruce Davis was not the biggest DE, but he was quick/fast and put a lot of pressure on the QB, which is similar to the success Matthews is having at USC. I think Anyanwu is built in a similar mold as Davis. Have the coaches indicated why he was moved to LB, in light of the fact that we need to get more pressure on the QB? Why in the heck hasn't Jonathan Franklin been given the ball yet? I understand the blocking thing but even two carries i mean come on. He's the fastest guy on the team. And what about Knox? Is Dean going to get some carries this weekend or is he still suffering from his ankle sprain?

What separates Coleman from Franklin, Knox, and Dean? He was the least touted of the four backs coming and and is the slowest out of the group (he and knox are probably close). At least Knox has better moves in the open field and can shake and bake defenders.

We keep hearing Datone Jones is going to play. It's clear he has more talent thank any of the DE's. And it would be a little to kind if i said the DE's have performed average at best. So why haven't we seen Datone?

Why in the world is Westgate playing instead of guys like D. Carter, P. Larimore, A. Hester, EJ Woods, Datone Jones, and Damien Holmes. He's not even close to their talent level. Plus the depth at LB is just as good if not better than corner and DE? It doesn't make ANY sense.

With our serious depth issues on both sides of the ball, do you see CRN making a big push to solidify with JC standout's over next couple years until the recruiting engine is running on all cylinders?

With Walker surely not happy with BYU tagging a "59" on us, you see him pushing our "D" a little harder this week? No secret we need our frosh/soph's to grow up very quickly...

When an out of state recruit visits either UCLA or USC, does the other school try and recruit them while they're in town or is it against NCAA regulations?

Do you think with UCLA's academic standards that UCLA can consistently be a top-25 team?

Is there any reason why the coaches do not create specific packages for certain players (i.e., using Forcier similar to Pryor/Tebow, using certain RBs for certain packages where they could easily identify their blocking assignments, etc.)? I realize that Forcier isn't nearly as talented as Pryor/Tebow, but don't you think it would help throw off the defense?

Much is said about the 2008 recruits, but Dorrell/Walker/Scott also had a good 2007 class (Price, Carter, etc). The class wasn't graded highly by recruiting websites because there were not many available slots. Any thoughts on the impact of the 2007 class past/present/future?

does RN have an area out of state that he really wants to target, like Dorrell did Louisiana? other than the state of washington. will we try to get back into texas like we once did

Neuheisel pimps the "relentlessly optimistic" mantra, but his demeanor, tone and messaage when the media record him is often anything but.

Do you think recruits and their families will see him as a hypocrite (ie, saying one thing, but doing the opposite)? He IS known as Slick Rick...maybe for a reason?

What about the current players? Are they in danger of losing faith in Neuheisel's catchphrase, given that his behavior isn't "on the same page"? (haha! blast from the past...)

The last time Mike Linn was the S&C coach for UCLA (1999...back when UCLA allegedly had some history/tradition), the Bruins were devastated by knee and ankle injuries.
