Recruiting tool
You better believe Ben Howland will use Kevin Love's cover-boy status on EA's new college hoops video game as a recruiting tool.
Howland doesn't know how to play video games, however.
``I may have to pick it up now,'' he said.
Coaches need hobbies to relax, but Howland didn't think playing a competitive video game would be a good way to do that.
Plus, Love didn't think he'd be able to use the controller.
``He types like this,'' Love said during the news conference, while displaying a hunt-and-peck approach on the keyboard.
How cute. But little does K'Love know that Howland probably talks mad crap on him when he's not around.

To the contrary, we should be glad EA chose KL to be on the cover. Do you have any idea how people will see that in their Best Buy/Circuit City/Walmart/Target, etc? Its called free positive exposure to UCLA for future recruits! You don't think that'll be used to lure recruits? People say Howland doesn't recruit bigs well...he can now say, come to UCLA, go to a Final Four, be a top 5 draft pick, and even get on the cover of a video game. That is the stuff recruits DREAM of.

It was well known that Kevin Love was a one and done. It was a shock to no one. Apparently it was a VB. But he/she can stew in their own misery about it. Most were glad to have him for 1 year and 2 would have been spectacular, he will be a good pro player. Sorry to burst your bubble VB, but it is what is. Also, guess what! If Morgan has a stellar freshman season he is gone also!

Maybe winning a national championship would be a better recruiting tool than showcasing the cover of a video game commonly played by 12 year olds. A national championship was obviously something Kevin Love love couldn't provide for us. But hey, AT LEAST HE IS ON THE COVER OF A VIDEO GRAME!
