Running on empty

BYU averaged 144 rushing yards a game last season, but in two outings against UCLA managed a total of 78 (on 53 carries).
Through two games this season, the Cougars are averaging 109 rushing yards, and tight end Dennis Pitta believes they must run the ball better today.
"Hopefully, we can come out and establish the run better this game. That will be huge for us offensively,'' Pitta said. "I don't think it was a matter of them being too quick. I think it was a matter of them having a good game plan. There's always things we can do to counter the look they give us, and we're prepared to do that, and we're going to come into this game a little more prepared than the other two games against them.''
