Theriot done for year

| | Comments (10) |

Just got word that UCLA fullback Trevor Theriot is done for the season with a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee. He has already red-shirted, so he will have one year of eligibility remaining.

i would like to say that the injuries are getting ridiculous....but i already said that during spring practice. words can't even describe what's going on now.

Who is backing him up? An opportunity for Moline to go to FB, and let some one else get his carries at tailback?

I wish him the best and a full recovery

This is seriously getting ridiculous. We don't have any chance of even attempting to compete if we can't stay somewhat healthy. IMO he is one of the most valuable players to our team.

Brian: Are there any grounds for a 6th year medical redshirt?

Two things:
First, as was reported on the blog last night, Chane Moline becomes the first-string fullback.
I am told he will also get reps at running back, and UCLA's depth at running back should not be an issue with Kahlil Bell, Raymond Carter and Derrick Coleman all expected to be ready.
Second, Theriot is not a candidate for a sixth year. In order to be a candidate for a sixth year, a player must miss two seasons because of injury. When he red-shirted, he was healthy.

You're saying he is done because he HAS an ACL in his right knee?? Damn, did someone come in and put an extra one in there when he was sleeping or something??

haha good going on correcting the error in your post. Luckily you have me here to edit your entries. When will I be receiving my paycheck by the way?

Theriot is badly missed. The blocking without him is killing Craft. Note, Theriot will have 2 more years with a medical redshirt a slam dunk.
