Wooden's letter
During his press conference today, UCLA coach Rick Neuheisel read a snipet of a letter he received from legendary coach John Wooden. He said he received the letter before the season began, but it is meaningful now as the Bruins try to rebound from a 59-0 defeat at BYU.
"You to have the self control to forget about it," said Neuheisel, while reading from a piece of paper. "Long before any championships were ever won at UCLA, I came to understand that losing is only temporary, and not all encompassing. You must simply study it, learn from it, and try hard not to lose the same way again. Then you must have the self control to forget about."
Neuheisel then said "That's what we're going to ask our kids to do."

Us fans will never forget. 59-0 is pretty painful. Followed by a 35-3 win by USC over Ohio State. Followed by me discovering that my cat has worms.
THINGS NEVER GO MY WAY!
Is the cat having worms a good or bad thing? (forgive me, my wife has 2 so I'm not the biggest cat fan)
Honestly, I've taken some ribbing from $C co-workers and friends, but the sun still came up today. I imagine it feels a lot worse for the team, so my thoughts are with those guys bouncing back and making a good show Saturday. We're just fans; we support the program, true, but those guys are the ones spilling blood and sweat (and knee ligaments) on Saturdays.
Let's focus on being 1-0 this week...
Lets Just show up and support the Bruins on Saturday...
Through thick and thin we are true Bruin faithful.. not like our neighbors and all the bandwagon fans..
GO BRUINS... (even though my stomach still hurts since saturday)...
I hope the emphasis will be on "study it, learn from it, and try hard not to lose the same way again" instead of forget about it.
Actually I think I'm the one with the worms developing from nausea induced by the massacre.
One thing is for sure: myself and the rest of the UBTA will be there on Saturday at dawn. Rain or shine, richer or poorer, ringworms or tapeworms.
Worm medicine is going to cost me $140 for my cat. AHHHHHHH!!!
good thing you are an adult and have a wife and a full time job to pay for that cat medicine.
Amen.
Lol @ who cares...
But yeah, cheers to bouncing back on Saturday. I just wish we had another week off to get healthy...
